Old friend Vs. New Friend

Make new friends,

But do not forget the old

As new may be silver

But old is gold.

These are few lines many of us might have heart of before, especially through sms or on friendship day. Well how relevant are these lines I really don’t know. Because we keep on making new friends at every new step of life. When we leave school we make new friends in college and our contact gets lessened with the school friends, still moving on we go on making new and more and more friends. Sometimes we think that this new friends are our real true friends. We thank God for giving such good friends. But then a point comes in our life when we start missing our old friends, those old mastis and their sweet talks.

I don’t buy the above mentioned lines because then one more sms comes to my mind-

Friendship is not about who came first, whom you have known the longest or who cares the best… its all about who came and never left.

For me friendship is something a feeling, a matter of intuition. If I feel that the person can be a good friend of mine then I extend the contact else I don’t. This had assumed great significance particularly in recent times when I am in process of making various new friends. In some cases old contacts are getting revived up and in some cases new friends are getting in touch may be due to any reason.

But then you have also to decide are you really in need of this new friendship. I mean will you be able to handle this new friendship. In this fast moving world, which is a complex maze, will you have time and moreover patience to handle all your friends. It is very difficult.

Well the definition of the friendship differs greatly and hence I will not say much. Hence I end this topic abruptly.
